Rob is responsible for the overall management of the Firm, is a member of the Investment Committee and has 25 years of infrastructure experience. Rob is currently a director of UPPCO, Wightlink, Alkane Energy and Texas Microgrid.
Previously, Rob was Head of European Infrastructure at AMP, where he was responsible for managing the European infrastructure investment business, which he was instrumental in founding in 2005. At AMP, he oversaw transaction origination and execution, portfolio management and asset management for AMP’s European managed infrastructure funds. Rob was director of a number of AMP’s European portfolio companies including Alpha Trains, Compañía Logística De Hidrocarburos (“CLH”), Thames Water and SMIF. Rob served as an alternate director of Wales and West Utilities. Prior to joining AMP in 1997, Rob worked for Bankers Trust, TNT Limited, and Ernst and Young.
Rob holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Canberra and a Master of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) from the University of Sydney in Australia, and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Financial Services Institute of Australasia. Steven is responsible for advising on the origination, execution and management of assets, predominantly in Western Europe, and is a member of the Investment Committee. Steven has 21 years industry experience and is currently a director of McEwan Power, Wightlink and Alkane Energy.
Previously, Steven was Director of European Infrastructure at AMP where he led, executed and managed transport and social infrastructure investments for AMP’s European managed infrastructure funds. At AMP, Steven served as a director of Angel Trains and Alpha Trains. Prior to joining AMP in 2007, Steven worked as Head of Infrastructure Equity and Advisory, Europe at Commonwealth Bank of Australia in London, focusing on the transport and social infrastructure sectors. He additionally founded and led the social infrastructure team at Commonwealth Bank of Australia Limited (“CBA”) in Sydney. Prior to working for CBA, Steven worked for Halifax Bank of Scotland PLC in infrastructure project finance. His 21 years of experience in leading transactions for debt, advisory and equity investments in airports (Sydney Airport), roads, ports (Dalrymple Bay), rolling stock (Angel Trains) and social infrastructure (Forth Valley Hospital) has provided him with strong project management skills and a detailed understanding of managing complex transaction processes, skills that are essential in executing infrastructure transactions.
Steven holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from St. Andrews University in the UK and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Steven is also a Member of the UK Institute of Company Directors.

Jeff is based in New York and is responsible for origination and ongoing management of North American infrastructure investments. He is also a member of the Investment Committee (appointed by the U.S. sub-adviser). Jeff is currently a director of UPPCO and Texas Microgrid.
Prior to the establishment of Basalt, Jeff was Investment Director of European Infrastructure at AMP where he was responsible for the origination and execution of infrastructure investments in Europe, focused in particular on utilities and energy transactions, for AMP’s European managed funds. While at AMP, Jeff originated and led the AMP execution team for investments in a major monopoly products distribution and storage network in Spain and managed the execution of AMP’s European portfolio investment in Thames Water, one of the UK’s largest water and wastewater networks. Prior to joining AMP in 2005, Jeff worked for Duke Energy, originating and executing structured energy commodity transactions and for Enron, where he focused on asset development and acquisitions in Europe, South America and the Middle East. Jeff has 23 years of experience, including 20 years’ experience as a principal investor in Europe, the Americas and the Middle East, with experience focused primarily on the energy sector.

Michael is responsible for the administration and operations of the Firm. Previously, Michael was European Investment Manager at AMP, where he was predominantly responsible for the operational management of AMP’s European managed funds and also worked as an asset manager on several of the European portfolio’s investments, including Wales and West Utilities and Thames Water. Michael joined AMP in 2003 and was initially employed as an investment manager in risk and operations for the Private Equity and Infrastructure divisions, following which he managed AMP Life’s portfolio of private equity and infrastructure investments. Michael is currently a director of McEwan Power and Alkane Energy.
Michael has over 23 years of industry experience, holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from The Nottingham Trent University and is a fellow member of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants.

Rob joined Basalt in 2013 and is located in the New York office. Rob is responsible for advising on the origination and ongoing management of infrastructure investments, primarily in North America. Rob is currently a director of UPPCO. Previously, Rob was Managing Director at John Hancock Life Insurance Company, where he was most recently portfolio manager of John Hancock’s infrastructure equity portfolio. During his tenure at John Hancock, he played a lead in building and managing an infrastructure portfolio comprised of direct investments, co-investments, and equity fund investments in power generation, electric transmission and distribution, oil & gas midstream, utilities, toll roads, airports, ports and rail in North America, the UK and Continental Europe. Prior to joining John Hancock in 2001, Rob was an attorney at Bingham McCutchen in Boston and PhelpsDunbar in Mississippi.

Previously, John was a transaction director within Balfour Beatty Investments and has 15 years of infrastructure investment and advisory experience. While at Balfour Beatty Investments, John was involved in the origination and acquisition of infrastructure assets in sectors such as airports and offshore transmission and has been actively involved in the management of investments across Balfour Beatty Investments’ wider portfolio. Prior to joining Balfour Beatty Investments, John worked in the infrastructure financing teams at both PricewaterhouseCoopers and KPMG, advising private sector bidders and government bodies on transactions across the transport and social infrastructure sectors.

David is currently a director of Texas Microgrid and has 14 years of experience in infrastructure investment and advisory services. Previously, David worked as a strategic consultant at Parsons Brinckerhoff, where he advised financial and strategic investors on transactions in the transport sector. David focused on econometric-based demand and life cycle cost analysis of large transport and power generation assets in North America.

Joe Galan recently joined Basalt as Asset Manager, based in the New York office. He is focused principally on asset management of Basalt’s North American portfolio investments.
Prior to joining Basalt in 2017, Joe was Senior Vice president at GE Capital - Energy Financial Services where he led investment underwriting and execution of transactions in the power renewables and energy infrastructure sectors in the US and abroad. Prior to GE, Joe worked for Ashmore Energy where he focused on capital expansions, turn-around efforts and acquisition financing on power and gas infrastructure assets and for Enron in the areas of asset management, M&A, and project and structured finance supporting the commodities business and equity investments in power and energy sectors. Joe has 20+ years of experience in the areas of asset management, project and structured finance, investment underwriting and capital market transactions.
Joe holds a BBA in Accounting from the University of Texas, a MBA in Finance from Tulane University, a CPA designation, and is a member of the Global Association of Risk Professionals.

Markus joined Basalt in January 2013 and is located in Munich. Markus advises on the origination, execution, management and operation of investments for the Firm, with a particular focus on the German-speaking markets of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He has over 21 years of infrastructure investment experience and before joining Basalt he was Bid Director at Balfour Beatty Investments’ Munich office where he was responsible for the origination and acquisition of infrastructure assets in Central and Western Europe. Prior to joining Balfour Beatty Investments, Markus worked for the infrastructure investment department of major Austrian and German contractors (Alpine Mayreder and Walter Bau) and Kreditananstakt für Wiederaufbau (KFW).

Jennifer joined Basalt in 2013 and is located in the New York office. Jennifer assists the Partners with the origination, execution, management and operation of North American investment opportunities. Jennifer began her career at AllCapital and continued on with the same team at Abatis Capital. She also worked as a senior consultant for Sigma Energy Solutions. Jennifer has 9 years of infrastructure experience, having specialized in North American regulated utilities and energy generation investment opportunities, including both conventional and renewable technologies.

Wil joined Basalt in March 2014 and is located in the London office. Wil focuses on the origination, execution, management and operation of investments, predominantly in Western Europe. Prior to joining Basalt, Wil spent over four years at Deloitte where he specialised in business modelling within Corporate Finance. Wil worked as part of a team to design, develop and test complex models for a diverse range of clients including infrastructure related projects.

Amrita joined Basalt in February 2012 and is General Counsel, responsible for all legal matters, and in addition is Chief Compliance Officer. Previously, Amrita spent over four years with Macquarie with a focus on principal investment, financing, asset management and support to the financial advisory businesses, primarily in the Infrastructure and Real Estate sectors across the EMEA region. Prior to that, Amrita was part of the European Transaction and Securitisation Group at Citi focusing on structuring and negotiation of financing. Amrita trained and qualified with Clifford Chance with a particular focus on Pan-European Acquisition Financing transactions.
Amrita holds an MA in Jurisprudence from Oxford University and is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales.

Andy chairs the Investment Committee. Andy is an experienced Chief Executive Officer and has been involved in the infrastructure sector for more than 30 years. Previously, Andy was CEO and Managing Director of Infrastructure at John Laing plc, where he played a leading role in the restructuring and growth of the group as a leading investor prior to its 2006 acquisition by Henderson for £1.0 billion. Prior to John Laing plc, Andy worked at Macquarie in the UK as an Associate Director, a position he assumed in 1997. Andy held a succession of senior management roles at the City of Melbourne focused on economic and service development, culminating in his appointment as Chief Executive in 1995. Andy is an experienced Non-Executive Director having served on the Boards of Partnerships UK, Financial Security Assurance (UK) Ltd, the Department for Transport High Speed Two Ltd. and numerous project companies in the rail, airports and utility sectors. He is currently a Non-Executive Chairman of the investment committee of the InfraMed fund and a member of the City University Council.

Marcus joined Basalt in 2015 and is located in the London office. Marcus advises on the origination, execution, management and operation of investments, predominately in Western Europe. Previously, Marcus spent nearly three years in financial modelling where most recently he was a Transaction Modelling Executive at EY. Marcus has a wealth of modelling experience, having also worked on a number of infrastructure mandates. Marcus has over three years of corporate finance experience of which a significant part has been within infrastructure. Marcus holds a BSc in Management from the University of Warwick.

Regina maintains services by organizing office operations and procedures; preparing payment logs; controlling correspondence; designing filing systems and monitoring clerical functions. Regina has more than five years’ experience in the administrative field working with many different companies including post production, real estate and hospitality.
Regina graduated from Baruch College of New York with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
