Tom joined Basalt as General Counsel in 2022. Before joining Basalt, Tom spent almost 6 years at Pollen Street Capital, a financial services-focussed private equity and credit asset manager, where he gained extensive experience across a variety of M&A transactions and fundraising processes. Prior to that, Tom spent over 6 years as a corporate lawyer at Slaughter and May where he advised on public and private M&A and equity capital markets transactions, joint ventures and restructurings across a broad range of industries. Tom also spent six months working in Slaughter and May’s Hong Kong office and four months on secondment to Apollo Global Management. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Tom spent 5 years as an officer in the British Army.

Tom has an MA from the University of Cambridge.
