Joe Galan joined Basalt as Asset Manager, based in the New York office. He is focused principally on asset management of Basalt’s North American portfolio investments.

Prior to joining Basalt in 2017, Joe was Senior Vice president at GE Capital – Energy Financial Services where he led investment underwriting and execution of transactions in the power renewables and energy infrastructure sectors in the US and abroad. Prior to GE, Joe worked for Ashmore Energy where he focused on capital expansions, turn-around efforts and acquisition financing on power and gas infrastructure assets and for Enron in the areas of asset management, M&A, and project and structured finance supporting the commodities business and equity investments in power and energy sectors.   Joe has 20+ years of experience in the areas of asset management, project and structured finance, investment underwriting and capital market transactions.

Joe holds a BBA in Accounting from the University of Texas, a MBA in Finance from Tulane University, a CPA designation, and is a member of the Global Association of Risk Professionals.
