Basalt Infrastructure Partners enters agreement to buy Comax France SAS

Basalt Infrastructure Partners LP (“Basalt”) announces today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire 100% of the ownership interest in Comax France S.A.S. (“Comax”) from Maxim Power Corp.

Comax owns and operates 32 contracted natural gas-fired electric generation facilities in France including a number of combined heat and power facilities. The facilities have an aggregate generating capacity of 176 megawatts. The acquisition of Comax is scheduled to close during the fourth quarter of 2016, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.

Rob Gregor, Managing Partner for Basalt, commented “We are excited by the opportunity to acquire Comax through a bilateral acquisition process. Comax is an attractive investment opportunity in the core contracted energy sector, providing geographic and sector diversification in addition to potential further growth opportunities. It is consistent with Basalt’s strategy of seeking negotiated, bilateral investment opportunities in the infrastructure space and will act as a platform for further growth and investment in the sector”.

Basalt’s strategy is to invest in the key sectors of energy, transportation, and utility assets across the UK, Europe, and North America and the investment in Comax will represent its seventh investment.
